Today had some DRAMA.
It is never a good sign when you hear a noise and go outside to find this trail going down your steps.

And then you find this.

With Stewie laying in front of it.
Damn dog.

Yeah you, asshole.
EXCEPT. It turns out Stewie was perfectly fine and the blood was all Frankie's. Ha ha ha ha ha! He got a dewclaw caught in the mesh when he was busting through and ripped it partway off. Ouch!
If you look close in the picture above, you can see Stewie's rear end to the left of the picture. When I went out to check her, she wasn't dead laying down, she was crouching down to doing the "ooh baby, make sweet love to me" squat. Stew! You little ho.
She didn't even have a slobber mark on her.
HOWEVER, the chicken pen WAS clean of all chicken food and poop.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Oh Frankie. First you get locked in your crate with Norman and don't harm him at all.
Then you break into the chicken coop, but leave the chicken alone and just get the food and poop.
You are slowly earning your place around here!
Stew was happy to get some free range time.

In other news, there is ANOTHER new nest. This is in one of the "replacement" baskets, hanging in the carport.

Damn birds are busy!
So I went to the dr today. Sinus infection, bad allergies, yadda yadda yadda. Have some crazy antibiotics and allergy stuff and nose spray and a kleenex shoved up my nose right now. Keep your fingers crossed I improve.
More later this weekend.

Oh Frankie, what a GOOD BOY! A trustworthy dog AND a coop cleaner all rolled into one.
OH, a second for the netti pot. Sounds gross, feels sooooo soothing. Really helps.
Oh my goodness! Silly Frankie! That is funny!
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
what the heck is a "netti pot"? have never heard of that, but if it's something to help a cold i want to know. oh, and my 5 month old buff orpington hens started blessing us with eggs yesterday! as of 3pm today they have laid 4! they roam free all day, but apparently went into their night cage to lay. what wonderful girls! i wonder which of the 3 are laying, or maybe all? is there any way to tell, other than catching them in the act? their names are layla, lola and luanne. i do adore them, my first chickens. i am glad stewie wasn't eaten-good dog!
Actually, don't use a Neti pot. You need some pressure behind it, or else you just have a bunch of water in your sinuses. They have these kits to blast all the junk out of your sinuses, just ask your pharmacist.
I think sinus problems are related to my crooked nose. Except my nose does not look crooked from the front...just from underneath (looking up nostrils). I'm not sure if it is a deviated septum or what.....but one half of my nose is almost completely closed. Weird.
